Frustrated over the lack of customization for your user's registration fields?
PROBLEM SOLVED.
'Dynamic Registration' by Data Springs now offers a master key that unlocks your full potential into the world of 'Mass Customization" for your portal. With this key, you'll be able to open the only DNN door that allows you to dynamically identify your specific users; needs, wants, preferences, and desires - instantaneously the moment they become a user. Now you can personally customize fields using their terminology, so that a one-to-one relationship with your users builds right from day one. On top of this, it gives your users options to update their own custom data quickly, which they've never even had access to before.
In their eyes, it will suddenly appear that you're serving them and only them - and that translates into an instant boost in sales potential. Ready for the master key? There's only one module that offers it, and it can be yours today. |
Did you know you can get Dynamic Registration with other modules in cost-saving packages? Check these out:

New Feature - Dynamic Payment Gateway
- This feature will allow you to process payments using Dynamic Registration, offering the ability to use the module as an ecommerce solution and single-form payment solution without another 3rd party shopping cart or payment processing module. The module currently supports Authorizenet® and PayPal® payment providers
- Authorizenet® Payment Gateway - Dynamic Registration will now support processing credit card transactions for registrations / updated registrations
- Dynamic Events will process only after payment is complete, offering ability to then process completion events such as emails, add users to DNN® Roles, process any SQL Events/HTTP Form Posts, etc…
- Processed payments can be from credit card or ECheck
- Calculation total fields can calculate a total or calculate items within a Check Box Groups and ListBox’s for a total price
- Gateway can be used in ‘Test Mode’, or ‘Developer Mode’
- PayPal Payment Gateway - Dynamic Registration will now support PayPal including PayPal's Instant Payment Notification (IPN) for all completion events within Dynamic Registration. You can now setup your completion events as you would normally (for emails, adding the user to a security role, executing a SQL script etc...) only now you can link each of the completion events to a PayPal status event within the IPN. This means you can setup completion events for the following IPN status codes (for single instance PayPal purchases or PayPal Subscriptions):
- Success Redirects / Cancel Redirects
- Completed Purchases
- Pending Purchases
- Subscription Sign Up
- Subscription Payment
- Subscription Payment Failed
- Subscription Cancellation
- Subscription End Of Terms
- Payment Failed
- Payment Denied
- Refunded
Dynamic Completion Event Enhancements
- HTTP Post Completion Event Type - a new completion event type was added to handle HTTP Posts, with this new event you will be able to complete a silent HTTP Post to any URL

A default file is included for scripts to calculate checkbox groups, create pop up help text, create pop up alerts for require fields, and other useful functions.
- Example client side events can include features to hide/show html, hide/show the form submission ability, pre-populate fields, calculate checkbox fields, etc, You can review the following demonstration for more detailed tutorial on setting up some client side events
- Build interactive form payments by utilizing client side calculation fields to create a "Total Price"
Enhancements in V3.0
- In-Line Editing - You will now be able to maintain the registration header/footer, and the questions label and so forth with in-line editing. This means that you will be able to click on the label and change the label directly on the user-facing page without having to go into the administration area (similar with out the DotNetNuke text module works in 4.5.x).
- Question Events Enhancement - You will now be able to specify multiple affected questions for question events. For example, this means that if you specified that checking a box for a checkbox field fires the event you could have it hide maybe 10 other fields (or show 10 other fields that were previously hidden etc...). Previously you could only specify one affected field for each question event
- New Javascript/AJAX features. Now when setting up a field label if you tab off of the label it will automatically default the short field name and help text for you.
- Auto set sort order for new questions
- Ability to clone questions
- Edit button displayed next to each field on the user-facing registration page. This will allow you to edit fields faster without having as many postbacks
- Ability to over-ride label/field sytlesheet classes per field. This would allow you for example to have just one particular field label with was using a styleclass such as normalred even when all of the others were normalbold etc...
- Checkbox field types - now display text to the left or right of checkbox fields.
- Optionally hide field labels per field
- Support for Check Box Groups and Radio Button fields types to now set the number per row
- Ability to change module title to a different title when the user is updating their registration. For example maybe your module title is 'Register'. You will now be able to specify a new title when the user is already signed in such as 'Update Registration' etc...
- Ability to Hide Password Fields for registration updates
- Ability to hide userID field field for registration updates. Previously all field types could be hidden but the password/userid fields. Now that these can be hidden you can setup multiple profile pages throughout your portal where the user could maintain different profile pages if you wished.
- New feature for Dynamic Role Events. Now you can specify the number of days for the role to expire.
- When managing users the module would previously redirect to the home page after updating a users registration. New enhancements have been added to redirect the user back to the manage users page
- New field types for Captcha and Rich Text Editor
- Now link all field types to DNN Core Field types. Previously you could not link fields such as checkbox field types
- Now specify security for who has access to manage users and manage questions (for users who do not have edit permissions to module)
- New sytlesheet classes for all table, table rows and table cells within the module.
- Now when you are adding or updating a dynamic field and you change the sort order, client side javascript code will let you know where it will fall into place within the form. This way you never have to save a field and then later go change the sort order
- Now longer field names are only added to the question dropdownlist (within manage questions) as 'Field Name...' once they are a certain number of characters
- Changed example text to allow for larger examples. In the future we will end up allow you to do all types of javascript tooltips and quick pop ups when a user tabs on/off a field etc
- New validation enhancements. Now if the user errors on a required field it can either throw them to the top of the form, the bottom of the form, set the focus on the first field that errors, etc... Additionally (and this is great!) you can specify a stylesheet class for fields that have thrown the validation error. So you could potentially change the stylesheet class to have a red background and it would highlight the fields that the user missed with the red background etc...

Licensing FAQs
| Q. Can I use the module(s) on several pages on my site? |
A. Yes, you can have multiple instances of the modules across your site. |
| Q. What if I have several portals on the same DNN installation? |
A. If you only have one DNN installation, your Standard edition will work for you across multiple portals. |
| Q. What license will I need if I have several sites? |
A. The Enterprise Edition is a license for as many DNN installations that you directly own and operate. This, however, does not include a license to redistribute to clients. You may purchase Standard or Enterprise licenses on behalf of your clients so they have their own licenses. However, if you wish to purchase 1 license that will allow you to install at unlimited # of client sites, then you will need the Developer License. |
| Q. What kinds of customers will need the Developer License? |
A. The key factor for the Developer License is re-distribution. Here are some examples where the Developer License will be required:
- A web developer who will install the module(s) in multiple client sites.
- A franchise company who operates applications using our modules across multiple franchisee websites.
- A business entity with independent contractors where the business entity provides website templates using our modules for various sites to operate the independent contractor's business.
|
| Q. What do you mean by “direct access to Data Springs support.“ |
A. For customers who have the Standard or Enterprise license, this means that the customer can contact Data Springs directly via the Contact Us (Support) Form or a Snowcovered HelpDesk ticket for questions and for problem resolution. The same is true if you have the Developer License. However, If you obtained your modules through a developer using a Developer License, please course all questions through this developer. The developer can contact Data Springs for issues that need further assistance. Please see our Data Springs Support Agreement for more details. |
| Q. Please explain your policy regarding access to patches. |
A. All Standard, Enterprise, or Developer licensees can access patches within your Snowcovered.com account under Patches and Hotfixes and/or MyDownloads. However, if you obtained your module through a developer, please contact your developer directly to access any available patches. |
| Q. What about the Upgrade Path and Discounts? |
A. As a Standard, Enterprise, or Developer licensee, there may be automatic discounts available to you when you upgrade. Please see our Upgrade Policy for details. If you obtained your modules through a developer, please contact your developer for product updates and pricing. |

Datasprings is the best DNN vendor in terms of customer service, innovation, and quality. They don't float a bunch of buggy junk out there and frustrate buyers.
This registration module has made my client very VERY happy. The new version 4.0 is even better. I appreciate their desire to add features that are needed by clients.

Brilliant module!! Never expected it to be so easy to understand and implement. i had my new registration page up and running within 45 minutes. i expected it to be a really complicated module, one that would take a while to get the hang of, but this wasn't the case at all. The step-by-step manual took me through the entire process from start to finish and it was an absolute breeze to understand! i was able to achieve exactly what i wanted to and exactly what the module said it could do! Once again, brilliant!

Great product! I was preparing to spend lots of money on a custom solution because I had some very specific needs. This product did EVERYTHING I needed, and then some. It has also been designed very well. I was able to understand how it worked and some of the more advanced features very quickly. The next time I need a DNN module, I will be checking with Data Springs first!!

This registration module does exactly what it says on the tin, it offers extreme flexibility in a simple and intuative way to allow the easy creation of complex registration forms. It is well designed and stable so gets 4 out of 5 out of the box. What really sets this product apart is the level of customer service that comes with it, which as you can see from other reviews is a major part of the whole package when your deciding where to spend your money. You only need support when you have got an issue and I found a couple of minor glitches when using this module for a private registration scenario, but the sign of a good company is how they react to problems and I can tell you the guys are Datasprings are on the case, I mean they nailed it... I had patch made available within hours of notifying them of my problem and they stayed with me until the job was done. If (like me) you have clients and you're buying modules to extend the functionality of their portals you rely on the quality o

Customer service at this level is rare. Tickets were answered right away. Customer service spent time and attention to my issues.
Module is incredibly powerful and is the only registration module that should be used with DNN. Worth every penny. 5/5 stars is an understatement.

The Dynamic Registration module is one of the best and most powerful I've used. These guys at this company clearly understand their customer's use cases and are moving the product in that direction. One of the most powerful features is competion events. I wouldn't have been able to build my application without this mod. The customer support was incredible. Had answers to all my questions within an hour or so - even on the weekend!!

Great product! It is clear that it was developed based on users' needs. But even more important is the service. I have purchased many modules and so I had the chance to get service from a few other module developers. I'd rate it as the BEST available on Snowcovered! Their promptness and care made me take the time and write this review, something I don't normally do.

Support, Support, Support...Great Support.
This module worked as advertised. I was able to integrate the module seamlessly into my DNN site.
One nice feature that I utilized was the ability to Import and Export the module from my development environment to production...the process was smooth and intuitive. Other nice features include both Question and Completion Events which offer a wide array of options, both while filling out the registration form and after it's been submitted.
Support.
I can not say enough about the support of this product. If I couldn't find an answer to a question I had on their forums pages I would submit a help ticket via snowcovered's website. I consistently received responses to my questions very promptly, and they would correspond back and forth with me until my question was answered completely.

We have this up and configured, already! WOW! this is an easy setup. We bought the UcanUse module and it is Crap!!!!! The most miserable module and very, very unfriendly!!!! I am so happy with this one! So hard to decide on modules based on descriptions some time. You have a nice portfolio of modules we will be looking at. What we have is a co-op that has 100+ member companies for our eLearning system and we want to give them a PIN to setup Roles for them based on Company, Trainee vs. Manager and so on. Well we have this proven that this works with your module, yeah!

This module does wonders. The level of customization that is available is astonishing. I really like the ability to have question driven events. I am not sure what else they could add to improve it, but I am sure they will come up with something. Works really nice with Opt-In Email as well. This is a welcoming module to our library.

Essential product ...the registration module I've been waiting for. Future rich and flexible. Has all the key features such as the ability to add any type of question - then the really cool stuff such as firing dynamic events to run SQL or send email - these can be conditional on user response... multiple registration forms per site I have one for home buyers and one for estate agents no need to create a separate portal !
Also in the Beta product I requested 4 enhancements and 2 bugs these were implement and fixed the following day.

This is truly a great module. It does what I've been wanting for some time, that is to create custom registration forms. It has so many well-thought-out features I won't attempt to list them. Indeed, I haven't tried them all yet. But many times I found myself thinking, wow, they thought of that! And when we did run into problems, Chad always responded promptly and helpfully. It takes some learning and doing to set up, but that's the price of functionallity.

The Dyn. Reg. Modue is outstanding. I had a minor problem with DNN talking to PayPal that I could not figure out. Tech support jumped right in and found the solution.
I was looking for a custom registration module and this was exactly what I needed. My registration includes many fields, many questions, PayPal to enter Roles and move from one Role to another ... This module did it all.
I used this module for registration and linked the fields to DNN standard and custom user fields.

Q:
Hi
I would like ask you few questions before I buy your module :
1. Can module help me to setup registration where users will have to pay to be register users using credit card visa and american ex.
2. Can I set up registration so users can choose type of memmbership and by this automaticly after payment, chooosen dnn role will be automaticly assigned.
3. Can I choose?change user name to be an email field.
Thank you.
A:
Hi. Yes, Dynamic Registration can handle all of these requirements. Using this module, you can offer various membership types/levels and process credit card payments for membership. It offers built-in integration with Authorize.net, PayPal and PayFlow Pro so you have options. The module allows you to set the email field as the username. As an alternative, you can use it's sister product, Dynamic Login, and allow login using the email address even if they have a different username. See this link: http://datasprings.com/Products/DNNModules/DynamicLogin.aspx Thanks and please let us know if you have other questions. -- Candace

Q:
Hello, is version 4 of your module still compatible with dnn 4.9.5 ?
A:
Yes. Dynamic Registration 4.0 fully supports DNN 4.9.5. Thanks!

Q:
Hi, just 2 queries: 1. Can this module allow users to purchase a subscription to more than one role at the same time during the registration process? I have different roles set up to allow access to different parts/pages of our web site. I want to allow users to register, choose one or more roles that are listed as check boxes, and then have the module calculate the total subscription rate, ready to pay through PayPal. 2. I'd like the module to then remind users with one e-mail when their chosen roles are about to expire for a chance to renew. Thanks.
A:
Hi Mark. 1. Yes, Dynamic Registration will allow you to add multiple role selections. You can then add a client side event with javascript to calculate the total which will then be passed to PayPal. 2. This requirement is handled by another one of our modules called Renewal Reminder. However, at this time, the reminder emails are based on each role. Here's a link for more information: https://www.datasprings.com/Products/DNNModules/RenewalReminder.aspx Thanks! -- Candace

Q:
I have a subscription website. We use authorize.net We charge $X for a 7 day trial to the site. On day 8 the user would be charged $Y or the full price.. Thereafter we charge a monthly fee of $Z until the user cancels or the credit card is declined. Can this be done with the Dynamic Registration Module??
A:
This can be done with PayPal integration. Please visit www.datasprings.com/formdemos and see Demo 17 where we show a subscription option with a free trial period. These demos were done with Dynamic Forms but work the same way with Dynamic Registration. Within the tutorial, you'll see a section called 'Setting Parameters.' In your case, you can use the a1, t1, p1 to charge $X, then use the a2 set for charge Y then use a3 set for $Z. We also integration with Authorize.net and I'm sure they can do this scenario but I haven't set on up yet. Thanks and let us know if you have other questions. -- Candace

Q:
We are above to purchase the "Dynamic Registration Form", we want your suggestion.
We are a production center specially working on the DNN, we have a huge requirement for the this type of module
We want to know which module would be the best for the production use, so we can use this type of module in the
Different different project using the same license key.
We are waiting for your quick response.

A:
Hi. If you are a developer and wish to implement the module on different projects for various clients, the best option for you would be the Developer License. A License Comparison Chart is available on the Dynamic Registration 4.0 page in Snowcovered.com for additional information. Please let us know if you have more questions. You might also consider the Collection 3.0 or the User Management Suite to offer more solutions to your clients. Thanks! -- Candace

Q:
Is there a way to create multiple registration options. For instance a partner registration, customer registration, white paper registration with different fields. I also need to send an email to different address when a new user registers.
A:
Hi. Yes you can do both of these options with Dynamic Registration. You can either create one registration form that changes dynamically based on their response, so for example displaying some registration fields when they choose employer and others when they choose job seeker etc... Or you can setup multiple / different registration forms on separate pages with separate questions. Email events can also be fired conditionally based on a users response or for new users VS updated users etc...
Thanks!

Q:
Hi,
1. Does your product allow users to have their own profile page like facebook based on the questions I create in the registration? Can this page be searched for all to view?
2. Does it allow for me to ask the user to upload an image(s) and it can be displayed on their profile page?
Thanks in advance.
A:
Hi. This can be done with Dynamic Registration and Dynamic User Directory where you can display user profiles, allow search for a variety of criteria, display images uploaded from Dynamic Registration, etc. You can see this in action on www.dynregdemo.datasprings.com. Thanks for your question! -- Candace

Q:
When the registrant clicks the submit button, is it possible for DR to automatically create a permanent user detail page (with HTML optimized for search engines) based on a custom page template? If so, can Dynamic User Directory be easily configured to link to this page from the directory listing?
A:
Hi. I believe this would either be possible using the 'Detail View' that is new for the latest version of Dynamic User Directory, and if you needed something even more specific our Tailored Text/HTML module should fit the bill. Thanks!
|
|
Q:
Do you have a trial version for Dynamic Registration? I need to see this and Dynamic User Directory work together before purchasing them both

Q:
Hi. During registration, I would like to ask the user how many dogs they have. Depending how many they have, I want to have name, birthday and breed appear for each dog. Also, they would be able to add/remove dogs later on. Can this be done?
A:
HI, you can accomplish this task but with a pre-defined limited number of dogs. For example, you can create a drop down list with numbers 1-5 to and have user pick whether they have 1 or 5 dogs. Then you can setup question events that will display textboxes for user to type in Name/Birthday/Breed depending on how many dogs the user picked from the dropdownlist.
Down the line, we plan on adding "gridview" controls that will enable a user to edit, delete, and add however many number of entries they so desire.

Q:
Can you explain the difference between the standard and the enterprise licenses?
A:
HI, Standard is licensed for a single DNN installation, the Enterprise License is for unlimited DNN installations within your organization / company (you just can’t redistribute the module to customers etc…). -- David

Q:
Hi, I need a module solution for my website.
The website requires 2 roles, a member and dealer. The member and dealer profiles are different, so the registration and user/profile pages needs to show only profile items that relate to a certain role. Can this module help me with this?
A:
Hi. Yes Dynamic Registration can easily handle these requirements.

Q:
Hi If I have the Paypal Gateway turned on for registration, is it possible to make one registration type free or 0 dollars to bypass the paypal section.
Cheers Dustin
A:
Hello, yes you can optionally turn the payment gateway on or off based on the response to a question. You can optionally create multiple registration pages (one for free, another for subscription) if you wanted too.

Q:
Couple of questions:
a) does this module support the automatic assignment of roles based on custom user field entry? e.g. Assign a unique Role based on Country or School or Interest or Gender etc?
b) Are the custom field easily accessible via other modules? (e.g. XMOD)?
c) Can this module support dynamic role assignment? e.g. after login the user enters additional fields and their role changes or they get additional roles. Would this require a log-out or re-login ?
d) Does this module support the ability to automatically log the user off?
A:
Hi. Let me see if I can answer some of your questions.
a. yes
b. yes, they can all update to the core profile / core extended profile fields which all other 3rd party modules should be able to pull from
c. yes, but this also goes along with item a I believe. you could have this done after initial registration when they update their profile page or maybe change their profile and update their roles conditionally based on their responses.
d. no. It supports the ability to not log the user in after registration initially, or supports verified registration as well, but does not have the ability to log the user out automatically. You can probably change settings within the DNN portal directly to kick the user out after enough time. There is also an option to 'cancel' their registration you can optionally enable which would allow you to log the user off
|
|
Q:
Can this module allow auto-generated usernames? So for example if a user enters their firstname (John) and lastname (Doe), the username can be configures as JDOE ??
A:
Yes. And the auto generated username can be based on first initial last name, first and last name, first name last initial, or email address. If the username already exists it will add a number to the end of the auto generated username.

Q:
Hi. I have questions about access to your fields. Lets say I use your module to add a new registration field (myNewField), then UserX registers and your module creates a value for his myNewField. What are the ways that I can access that field elsewhere in DNN? Can I display it with a token using the DNN HTML module? Can I read it with SQL from another module? Can I easily UPDATE it using SQL in another module? If so, would something bad happen if I update the value of myNewField for UserX using SQL in another module?
A:
Hi. Well there are multiple options here. First, you can create an extended DNN Core profile field and you can always link this profile property field to your new Dynamic Registration dynamic field. This way whenever the field is updated (outside of Dynamic Registration) it will still render properly within Dynamic Registration. Additionally, any time the user updates (or registers) it will update this extended profile property in the core so that other 3rd party modules (and modules such as the DNN HTML Module) can then retrieve or render that users profile property. Besides these methods you can also use SQL Events to actually store the data into any table you want to. If you are needing more options, Dynamic Registration also does include its own tables you could pull the information out of if you needed to.

|
Q:
Has Dynamic Registration 3.0 been tested for compatibility with DNN 4.8.x?
A:
Yes
|
|
Q:
Hi, I wanted to ask three question.
if we have defined a new field (e.g. "Hobbies") with Dynamic Registration 3.0, then will it to the core dnn registration table as well?
Dynamic Registration 3.0 manages data in its own table and can also add those to the core dnn registration table ?
MY last question is, can user also edit the registration info after getting logged in. The same registration form will be displayed for the user, as were displayed while registering to the site ?
A:
Hi, each dynamic field can be linked to a core or core extended field do that all information is stored in the core and it will also retrieve the users data from the core. This makes it very easy to integrate with other 3rd party modules as well. Yes, the user can update thor registration with the same questions after signing in. You also have the update registration page setup seperatly with other fields if you wanted to.

|
Q:
I need a way to accept an RSVP code (for granting specific roles) when the user first registers. Can your module do this? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Chris
A:
Hello. Yes you can allow them to enter (or accept via querystring) and RSVP code and then create as many completion events as you want to add them to specific security roles based on their RSVP code. Solutions like this are common with Dynamic Registration.
|
|
Q:
Hello, Can the module add custom fields to the registration page. I need something that can add 15 to 20 more additional fields with current profile that can be tied up with the Profile page. Some fileds may be drop down list.
Thanks
A:
Yes, this module can easily handle these requests.

|
Q:
here is my requirment. when a new user registers i want them to be able to pick the association they belong to from a dropdown list. the registration is validated. once validated and authorized i want that new user to be added to thier association security group and redirected to that section of the website. is this possible?
thanks
A:
Hi. Yes this can be handled with Dynamic Registration. The user would be able to pick the association from a dropdownlist, then after registration you can receive an email that you need to go approve them. You can go and approve them and also see other questions (such as approval, what role they should belong too that are hidden from standard users and only you as an admin can maintain their profile). After that you would need Dynamic Login if you want them to be redirected based on their security role to a different section of the web site though.
|
|
Q:
Hi. I need for members of a certain role who are non-administators to be able to approve registrations. (AFAIK, in DNN only Admins can approve.) Can your module support this? Thanks.
A:
Hello, yes this is a feature the module can offer. You can setup an authorization checkbox that only certain roles can approve users and also an area to choose which roles can manage users and also manage module configuration etc...
|
|
Q:
Hi, it is imperative for me to have custom user registration data stored in straigh sql, i.e. for each of the fields in the form there should be a column in the database table. As opposed to having all data formatted in XML and stored in a single field or similar type storage. It is neccessary because in the future expansion of the portal I must be able to quickly create custom views and reports with the user data and cannot afford to spend time untagling XML data or exporting and importing from your module into other ones. Can you please confirm for me how does your module store custom user registration data.
A:
Hello. Yes Dynamic Registration does not store all data in one 'blob' or field of XML data. Each particular response is added to its own row etc... Also you can link each Dynamic Field with a CORE or CORE Extended field and report based on that information (might review our Dynamic User Directory for reporting as it offers some great reporting/search capabilities within the user database). Additionally, there are 'Dynamic SQL Events' you can use to insert/update the data into literally any data table you would like.
|
|
Q:
Have you tried v3.0 on DNN 4.6.2 yet? - is there any reason why it wouldn't work?
A:
Hello, yes Dynamic Registration 3.0 does support 4.6.2 and we have tested against the latest version of DNN.
|
|
Q:
can this module let users to register without user name and passwod?
I've got a website that needs to collect info from the user registration. but login is not prefered to have.
Can this module create a registration page where user name and password are not presented?
Thanks.
A:
Hello. Yes there are features within this module to create username/password (based on email, or first name last name, or first initial last name etc...). If you do not want the users to be registered at all you can use the sister product Dynamic Forms.
|
|
Q:
Hi can i allow users to register using their email address as their username?
A:
Hello. Yes this is an easy feature to implement with Dynamic Registration. We have many clients that utilize the module to handle this requirement.
|
|
Q:
One feature missing from the new DNN Profile is the ability to include an Image of the user.
This would be very useful to integrate with a contacts module.
Can this be done with Dynamic Registration?
A:
Yes, Dynamic Registration fully supports an 'Image' field. You can specify if the image should display as a thumbnail and full image and also the thumbnail width/height etc... As far as integrating with other modules I know you can integrate with our Dynamic User Directory but not sure about the contacts module.
|
|
Q:
Can you create a multi page registration process (or wizard) i.e fill out page one then click continue to go to page two etc?
A:
Yes.. You can create one page that maybe asks them for the username/password and then continue onto another page to submit other details. You can have as many user profile (or registration) module instances you would like. Each registration page can also update as few or as many DNN Core fields as you would like as well.
|
|
Q:
How does Dynamic Registration affect the dnn database. Does it disrupt the existing backup tools or add steps to backup of sites using it?
A:
Hi. No Dynamic Registration does not modify/change/affect the DNN database tables or functionality. It has many integration options with the core but no changes to out of the box code/database. You would still be able to continue using existing backup tools etc...
|
|
Q:
Hello,
would it be possible to provide selective automatic or manual users activation?
I mean user compiles registration form: depending on some questions, the system should assign one or more roles (and this should be possible); for some roles I want user activation to be immediate, while for other roles I want to manually validate and activate the new user profile (which should be "parked" until approved or rejected).
Is this possible?
A:
Yes. Based on a response to a question (such as a dropdownlist/checkbox/radio buttons, etc...) you can add/remove a users role within DotNetNuke. Additionally, you can authorize/unauthorize the user based on a checkbox or use Dynamic SQL Events to automatically authorize the user based on a users response. Very dynamic.

|
Q:
Hello,
Is there any way to use Dynamic Registration so my members can distinguish whether they are A "Registered User" or a "Subscriber". I want businesses to be under one category and members another. Also is there any way to create to seperate registration for the two since my businesses will want to show more contact information that some of my users will be hesitant to give out? It seems once you use the setup wizard then everyone has to give the same information. Thanks
A:
Hi. Yes you can use seperate registration pages. You can also use Dynamic Events within either page (or dependent on their answer to a question) give them or remove a role. For example an employer during registration might get the 'Registered' role and a job seeker might get the 'Subscriber' role. Implementations like this are very common with this module.
|
|
Q:
Does this module allow the user to choose which role he wants to belong to? I needed to give the user the ability to choose his role.
A:
Hi. Yes the user can choose their own roles. One of the event types that can be fired off after registration is called a 'Role Event'. This can always be executed or only fired off conditionally based on a users response (i.e. Did the user check a certain box, was their answer to a specific question matched up to what is setup in the event) etc... Very easy to setup. Thanks!
|
|
Q:
Does DR 2.4 work with DNN 4.5?
A:
Yes., Dynamic Registration v2.4 can run on DNN 4.5.x.
|
|
Q:
If you buy and install your module, if a user clicks on the Register or Login links found on the home page, will they be taken to your module instead of the crappy registration page that came with my DNN installation? Also, I am using the DNN Auction module bought on Snowcovered. It is connected to the user registration information. If I use your module, will it work with the DNN Auction module? Does your module just take the place of my current registration page?
A:
Yes, you can specify which page represent the register and login modules. Our module can 'link' all fields to the core fields as well so you wouldn't have a problem using the DNN Auction module as the field data would also be written to the core. Thanks!
|
|
Q:
Will this verify the user's valid email before registering?
A:
Hello. Yes this option is avaliable within the module.
|
|
Q:
Is it possible to enforce terms and conditions contract?
A:
Hi. Yes you can set a field to be required and the module supports both client side and server side validation options.
|
|
Q:
Can I configure the Dynamic Registration module to set one or more security roles? Thanks!
A:
Hi. Yes, one of the completion event types is for adding/removing roles for users. This event can be setup during each registration, conditional based on the users reponses, only on updated registration, etc...
