This is an outstanding module and a real time saver. I am pretty good a Flash but couldn't easily get the .flv file to play properly in dnn. This module not only did the trick but it was many times better than can be produced with Flash after hours of work. Playing media? Don't even think about not using this module!

Ok this is more than I expected. I setup Alive with both XML,Single and External sources works great. I have customized the player to show colors and thumbs in the playlist. This module is great for setting up video on seperate pages and putting the XML together with the sample given is a great way to maintain your video lists. It also reads files from a folder and creates RSS Feed placed below the player. If you have an amazonaws account guess what no file overhead for you site and you can stream huge files just a tip !!! Very good module excellent support responded quickly. Heres a link to test site Im building if you want to see the mod working. Again test site !!!

Q:
Hi there, I just purchased the Alive Media Player and it works, everything is great. The only problem is that my friends can't see it on my website; is it because of their browser (they use Safari) or there are some limitations to viewers? Thanks.
Stella.
A:
Hi Stella, thank you for using Alive Media Player!
Some Mac users (not all, but some of them) reported similar issues with the player. We have tested it with MacOS X (Safari and Firefox) and it works. I belive some browser settings (JavaScript or Flash player) can cause behaviour like you described.

Q:
I cannot find any documentation on using Alive Media Player. I bought the product but cannot get RSS Feeds to work properly and cannot figure out how to do PodCasts. Both of which are supposed to be supported. I have left several posted questions and get no reply from Considero
A:
Hello,
thank you for the feedback.
You can find online documentation at http://www.considero.net/Support/Knowledge-Base.aspx

Q:
when generating a playlist on the fly from a webserver folder, in what order are the files displayed? is this order customizable?
A:
Playlist items are displayed in alphabetical ascending order.
This is not customizable in the current version.

Q:
I installed this module and i am getting the error:
File:
Select single file to play You don't have permission to see the files on the site
is there any way around this ?
A:
Hi,
this could happend if you have uploaded media files via ftp and your DNN database and File System are not synchronized.
Please read this Knowledge Base article for more info:

Thank you!

Q:
I was wondering if there is a way to dynamically load content into an instance of the module? We want to place an instance of the module on a page, then pass a querystring parameter to tell it which video to load, for example. Is this possible with the current version or is it planned for a future release?
Thanks,
Joe A
A:
Thanks for the feedback, this is a great idea! I have added your request to the Whishlist and this feature will be included in the next module version. Free upgrade will be available here at Snowcovered in the Patches & Hotfixes section. Thanks!
