DSLocalizator is the most advanced tool to make localization and optimization of your DNN framework. It is a module that includes a set of tools for:
Localization
It gives you the power to localize almost everything inside your DNN
Modules and skin objects to change the user locale
- Skin object
- Module
- Both can be set as a dropdown or a list of links
- Templates for links can be specified
- An example of creating a flag based links is included for autogeneration (This will give you an idea that you can customize it as you want)
Custom localization based on user selected locale
- Localize all your portal settings properties (Portal name, keywords, skin, container, copyright text, etc)
- Localize all you tab settings (Skin, Tab name, description, keywords, etc)
- Localize all your module settings (Title, header, footer, container ,etc)
- Enables search for localized data
- Can use a cookie, querystring parameter or browser specified language
- Can use geoIP to detect language
- You can specify the detection order and enable/disable a specific detection feature
- Hide pages based on current locale
- Hide modules based on current locale
- Change you skins, container, footers, credits, etc. based on current locale
Response optimization
Can enable SQL storage for the response viewstate
Make your response smaller by using this feature. It is totally compatible with all compresion solutions so you can make your optimization the best.
- IP ranges can be specified (You can enable it depending of the client IP)
- Per page option (Some pages can use normal viewstate and heavy pages uses SQL viewstate)
- Host can enable/disable this option
- Host can set a scheduler task (automatic) to clear old data (configurable time interval)
- Administrators can change the behavior per site, per page or per IP
Compress your final output by removing white spaces
Increment the optimization by reducing your output
- Can be setup for each page and for all portal
Extra features
Turn you preview mode as default
- Control panel is hidden in preview mode (good for intranets). It gives the idea of being a normal user when an administrator is using the portal.
- The skin object can show/hide a link designed to change the preview mode status
Switch Between http and https (SSL)
- Make your site fully compatible with SSL security (No compatible with shared certificates yet)
- Force a page to be always https or http
You don't need localization?
Well, you still can:
- Use a logo per page
- Asign a custom admin skin and container per module (Actually DNN only allows one per portal

DSLocalizator consists on:
- DSTabLocalizator: A module that lets you localize all your portal settings, tab settings and module settings. Localize titles, logos, skins, containers, login page, splash page, etc, etc, etc.
- DSLocaleSelector: A skin object to show a locale selector. It support two type of views: DropDownList and a list of links
- DSLocaleSelectorPA: Same as DSLocaleSelector, but as a module.
- DSPreviewActivator: A skin object to make the preview mode active by default. Very useful for intranets.

Does this support localization of dynamic content at the page level? For example, content that is added into the text/html module. How can this be done, if its possible.
A:
That depends on what do you understand for dynamic localization. For example, it allows you to localize the tab names in the menu, the module title and most module, page and portal property. It cannot replace the content of a module because it doesn't know how the module works in detailbut this module could allow you to hide modules based on the current locale so you can use two modules on a page and DSLocalizator will hide the module not corresponding to the current locale. Same for Tabs.
Ho you can think about this module in a tool that helps to localize depending of your own site design and module capabilities.

will you module support the dynamic localization of 3rd party module titles and panes?
Specifically, there is a great accordion module by Gumbosoft, however this does not support dynamic locatization (i.e. user select their preferred language the the site dynamically switches to support the chosen language).
Will you module be able to localize both the module headings as well as the pane titles?
A:
DSlocalizator can localize module title and other properties. It has nothing to do with "panes". however, you must undertand that DSlocalizator only help going into localization, it does not allow a non localizable module to support multiple languejes. However, you can "emulate" localization of non multiple language modules by hidding the module based on the locale. i.e. you can use two modules inside a page (one per languaje), and then DSlocalizator can hide the no correspondig one based on the locale.

Is the module support language with Right to Left direction RTL like Arabic. I'm interested to localize skins and containers. Most of the skins are designed for Left to Right languages like English, if you take any of these skins and changed the html direction to RTL , the rendering of skin & container is totally missed up.
A:
DSLocalizator is an engine that makes localization possible. It does not localize by itself... for example, you can use two different skins for a page, one for en-US and another one for a RTL language and DSLocalizator will allow you switch skins based on the current selected language. At this point, it is supposed that your RTL language skin supports RTL without problems. I cannot give you specific examples, but there are mane using RTL languages in DNN with DSLocalizator. Just remember that DSLocalizator does not change your skins, it only allows you to have different skins (and other properties) based on selected locale. Hope it helps

No. MMLinks is not part of this product. MMlinks is an advanced text/html module with integrated links and cool effects for displaying data with localization included, but it is another module. MMlinks can work with DSLocalizator and without it too.

Is there a procedure to get updates to the source code? How much will it cost for future updates?
A:
The source code is updated after the Pa is tested. Last versions needed a lot of fixes, so I will post last source code version this weekend.
All minor version upgrades will be included in the package for customers, so you will only asked to pay an upgrade if the product becomes something like 02.xx.xx after being 01.xx.xx.
I Always try to give customers the more stable package. You will find all updates in the patches and fixes section of your snowcovered account once they are released. An email will be sent to you after an update is uploaded

When we create a portal template, the delisoft tables are not copied.
Do you have a script that will work to recreate the translations when we create a new portal from a template. (Like a export/import tool) Just copying the values from the tables will not work, since TabId and ModuleId will be different on the new portal.
