Markit PowerWhois is the most powerful whois module for DotNetNuke used to look up information about domain names (such as DotNetNuke.com) on the internet and looks in online databases to get information about when a domain name was registered, who owns the name and how to contact the owner. It can perform recursive whois queries and automatically finds the correct whois server.

Q: Hi, looks great, i dont see .nz in your demo list, is it available? also how easy would it be to move the lookup result above the search box as its difficult to see at the bottom unless scrolled down, thanks
A: .nz tld is also supported by Markit PowerWhois. you can try the online trial at demo.markitmodules.com moving the lookup result above the search box is as simple as moving a <div> Html tag above a Textbox control in an ascx control file, If you know Html tags, you can move controls anywhere you like It is also possible you to decorate Module Interface like as godady.com, domain.com and....

A: Almost all of the world available tlds are supported by this module, If you find a tld is not listed in this module, simply let us know about it and we will add it soon, the default supported tlds are Listed above (Supported Domains) and you can try your desired tld from demo.markitmodules.com

Q: Is it possible to implement logging of all queries and their results as they are looked up? (store domainname.tld and results: taken/not taken and whois data if taken) Can I see a snip of the source or know how easy it would be to implement or how much for you to add this feature. Thanks
A: Storing whois results in database might be a good idea but for the admin purpose I think because maybe some users don’t like others to know about their secret domain name. This functionality can be added to this module for the next version. It’s good to Know Storing result in database for this module is so easy and simple as 123. This module is including 3 Controls as follow: 1- Whois.ascx: Presents Users interface 2- Settings.ascx: For configuring module settings 3- PopUpWhois.aspx: Providing Popup whois service And 2 class files as follow: 1- Whois List: List of all supported domain names and name servers 2- WhoisClient: For Getting Data From name servers

No transfer, distribution, modification, translation or derivative development of the Software, electronic or otherwise, is permitted without MarkitModules’s written permission.

3. LIMITED WARRANTY. MarkitModules warrants that the Software, as updated and when properly used, will perform substantially (in other words, in all material respects) in accordance with the accompanying documentation, and the Software media will be free from material defects in materials and workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of receipt. This Limited Warranty is void if failure of the Software has resulted from accident, abuse or misapplication or if the Software has been modified. ALL EXPRESS WARRANTIES AND ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THIRTY (30) DAYS. 5. NEW VERSIONS. MarkitModules may distribute updates or new versions of the Software, but MarkitModules reserves the right at any time not to release updates or new versions of the Software or, if released, to alter prices, features, specifications, capabilities, functions, licensing terms, release dates, general availability or other characteristics of the release.

6. PROPERTY RIGHTS. Intellectual property rights in and to the Software shall remain in MarkitModules. You agree to abide by the copyright law, patent law and all other applicable laws of the United States, European Union and Republic of Croatia. You acknowledge that the Software in source code form remains a confidential trade secret of MarkitModules and therefore you agree not to modify the Software or to attempt to duplicate, reverse compile, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise reproduce the Software, or any part of it, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation. You agree that you will not remove, obscure, or deface any proprietary legend relating to MarkitModules ‘s rights on the Software.

7. COMPLIANCE WITH EXPORT RESTRICTIONS. You may not download or otherwise export or re-export the Software or any underlying information or technology except in full compliance with all United States, European Union, Republic of Croatia and other applicable laws and regulations. In particular, but without limitation, none of the Software or underlying information or technology may be downloaded or otherwise exported or re-exported (i) into (or to a national or resident of) any country to which export restrictions or prohibitions apply under United States, European Union and Republic of Croatia export laws, or (ii) to anyone on the United States Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or the United States Commerce Department's Table of Deny Orders. By downloading the Software, you are agreeing to the foregoing and you are representing and warranting that you are not located in, under control of, or a national or resident of any such country or on any such list.

8. TERMINATION. This License Agreement is effective until terminated.  You may terminate the License Agreement by destroying the Software  and all copies thereof.  The  License Agreement is conditioned upon your continued compliance with it and will  terminate automatically and irrevocably if you fail to comply with any term or condition of this License Agreement. Upon any termination you agree to destroy all copies of the Software  in your possession or control.

9. GOVERNING LAW.  Any action related to this Agreement will be governed by Florida law and controlling U.S. federal law.  No choice of law rules of any jurisdiction will apply.  This License shall not be governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, the application of which is expressly excluded. 

10. ENTIRE AGREEMENT. This License Agreement is the entire agreement between you and MarkitModules regarding the license for the Software. It supersedes any prior agreement or understanding, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter of this license.

11. MODIFICATION OF TERMS. This License Agreement may only be modified in writing signed by you and an authorized officer of MarkitModules.

12. EFFECT OF PARTIAL INVALIDITY. If any provision of this License Agreement is found to be void or unenforceable, the remainder will remain valid and enforceable according to its terms. If any remedy provided is found to have failed its essential purpose, all limitations of liability and exclusions of damages shall remain in effect.

13. OTHER RIGHTS. This License Agreement gives you specific legal rights. You may have others, which vary from state to state and jurisdiction to jurisdiction. MarkitModules reserves all rights not specifically granted in this License Agreement.

14. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS. This License Agreement is effective upon your installation and/or use of the Software. You agree that MarkitModules need not sign this License Agreement in order for it to take effect.
