Q:
Hello,
We would like to acheive a menu system that allows us to use a graphic as the parent with a roll over to a graphic, like http://www.heschel.org/
Can this be done using your menu system?
Thanks-
A:
Yes, you can create a template that has images based on a token from the tab properties. For example you could use the Page Name as part of the image src filename, or the TabId. There is a topic on that here: http://www.snapsis.com/Support/tabid/601/aff/7/aft/11857/afv/topic/design-advice-for-horizontal-menu-w-images.aspx, and here: http://www.snapsis.com/Support/tabid/601/aff/7/aft/7094/afv/topic/Default.aspx

Q:
Does Snapsis CSS NavMenu 3.3 supported in DNN5?
A:
Yes, version 3.3.4 works in DNN5. If you have an earlier version of the menu then you can find the latest in the Patches & Hotfixes section here on Snowcovered.

Q:
Hi, I am a skin developer and was wondering if I purchase the developer edition of you menu system will I be able to use it in my skins that I sell here on Snowcovered. I am looking to start developing some XHTML 1.0 Transitional skins that will validate at w3c.org. Will the menu validate against a validation test? Thanks
A:
Hi, thanks for the interest. Yes, if you get the developer license you can include the PA Install of the package with your own skins for sale as long as they retail for at least $49 US.
Yes, it validates for XHTML, you can see the home page on Snapsis.com validates as XHTML strict as one example. There are other examples if you do a search for Snapsis in the skins here on Snowcovered.

Q:
Do you know of anybody that would take an existing skin with the SEOmenu skinobject and replace it with your NavMenu skinobject? I have a skin I'd like to update with your menu instead of the SEOmenu one I've been using. Thanks!
A:
You can try Nina at http://xd.com.au or Vasilis at http://www.thinkofdesign.com/

Q:
John, my host told me SEOMenu was not caching tabs and being that I have many tabs was using a lot of resources because every page load had to access the database. I contacted the maker and he said he was having the same issue. Does your NavMenu have that same performance issue?
A:
No, there isn't a performance problem like that with this menu.
This menu will cache the complete html output of the menu.
You may also want to look into using PageBlaster which will cache the complete page output.

Q:
Is it possible to achieve an effect like this:
http://www.blewis.com.au/TestArea/HHmenu/tabid/64/Default.aspx
with your menu? If I buy can you advise on how to achieve this should I run into difficulties (I promise to try hard first :))?
A:
That looks like it may be kind of hard, but reminds me of a FishEye menu.
You can build virtually any menu using the Snapsis NavMenu templates, but it will be much easier if you already have a static working example.
The templates allow you to basically map out how one menu item and it's children will look, plus gives you lots of properties to determine how they relate to each other or if they are active or not.
Sure, I would be willing to help if you have difficulties.

|
Q:
Is this a skin object or module, or both?
A:
It is a SkinObject, not a module. Most of the configuration is done in the CSS and templates, but there are some settings that you set directly in the skin.
