phdcc.CodeModule provides a simple way to add your own program code (and custom HTML) to a DNN site without having to write a full module or resort to using an IFRAME.
- Write your own ASP.NET/DNN code and HTML in a simple ascx user control
- Have it displayed by phdcc.CodeModule
Straight forward to use:
- Upload a control ascx using FTP etc to this directory /DesktopModules/phdcc.CodeModule/
- Add a phdcc.CodeModule module instance to your page.
- Tell phdcc.CodeModule the control name in Settings.
- phdcc.CodeModule loads your control and runs it.
- If you make any changes, upload a new control and refresh the page
phdcc.CodeModule output can also be included in a skin by using the [CODEMODULE] skin token. In the skin.xml file, define your code file in the "ControlFile" setting for the "[CODEMODULE]" token.
Be careful who has access to this powerful functionality.
You can use either VB or C#, and use a codebehind file if you wish.
The software includes all the VB source. It is compatible with DNN 4 and DNN 5.

Super simple to use and works perfectly. Great if you need to get access to logged in user information from within you own code without the trouble of packaging a module. Brilliant support too. First class module.

We needed an easy way to add custom .NET code to DNN website. This solution was easy to implement, cost effective and allowed us to use a common code behind forms module for our contact pages.
Technical support was very helpful and provided examples to help us reach our goals.

Q:
Hello,
Can we use this Module also as Skin-Tokens??
Best Regards
Guido
A:
Good idea. I have added this feature to new version 01.02.01. The [CODEMODULE] skin token is replaced with the output from your code file specified in the "ControlFile" setting in the skin.xml file.
For an example of this, go here:

Thanks Chris

Q:
Hi,
Have you tested this module on the followings environment:
1. Linq
2. AJAX
Thanks,
G
A:
Hi there
We haven't tested running Linq or Ajax code under phdcc.CodeModule
The phdcc.CodeModule acts as a very slim wrapper to enable you to write your own code easily; in essence: in its Page_Load, it loads your code control and adds it to a PlaceMarker. It should run any code that runs in DNN should run in phdcc.CodeModule OK.
