Why need Ultra Video Gallery
Video clip is everywhere in our world, you can take it by your home digital camera / computer camera / mobile phone, you can get it from your DVD or VCD disk, you can record your screen by screen recorder softwares to make learning courses, you can download movies from internet in various formats, you can find favorite videos on Youtube or other video community websites, now the problem is, how to share them on your DotNetNuke website?
Can you upload your videos to your server and provide a link for your visitors to download and play it? What can Ultra Video Gallery do?
The
major purpose of UVG can be divided to 3 parts.
Allow site users to add new videos: in some case you add videos by your self, but in community websites you allow your site users to add videos, UVG works in both situations, the configuration module can be used to set which roles are allowed to add new items.
Encode uploaded videos for internet usage: like Youtube, UVG allows you to upload videos in any popular formats, below you can find an incomplete list, most of these formats are not designed for internet usage, so once you upload a video, UVG encode it to Flash Video(.flv) format or MP4 format with H264 encoding, both formats are specially designed for internet usage with a good balance of video quality and bandwidth cost.

What's new in version 3?
Generally we do major upgrade seriously so you can expect to get a lot of enhancments when there is a new major, many components in UVG 3 are fully reworte to offer better user experience, such as add video module, video list module,client UVG Converter, video & audio player..., please download the user guide and refer to "What's new in UVG 3" chapter for a more detailed list. when you upgrade from UVG 1.x or 2.x you also have to read "Upgrade chapter" in the user guide carefully.

All the sites I build today have video.I have sites that are social sites and there is nothing that can come close to giving you a better social video networking then UVG. I have had this Module since first release and it has been outstanding in both performance,layout,power,and support. I can't say enough good things about this module.If anyone wants to email me about the use of this module please do.I will give you example sites. This module works great! BizModule has been VERY responsive to all my questions and suggestions.
There were some little quirks to link Google Videos but we found a solution.
Two features I would like to see added to this great module:
1 - To be able to play mp3 and associate them with one image.
2 - Podcasting support...

I've always been impressed with Biz Modules development, and this module is no exception. The client implemented the basic install of the module, had to obtain video conversion software (vids must be converted to .flv)... and saved a ton, since we didn't have to go through the rigormarol of setting up a streaming server...

This is one great video gallery module. If you're used to Ultra Media Gallery, then you will find this great module very easy to use.
You upload your video, then it would convert it to flv format automatically - very easy !
If you want to show video in your site, then I would say this is the module you're looking for.

This is no doubt the the the the Best dotnetnuke module for me Along with its brother module Ultra Media Gallery. Honestly speaking i have not seen any module soooo professionally written, very very very well documented, extremely easy to install and ROBOTIC support. The support is so fast that frankly speaking sometimes i feel that the developer is not human :P The developer is very very hard working. You write any question in the support forum of Bizmodule and you MUST get a fast reply, no matte how good or stupid your question is.
In Short, Enterprise level Product with great great support.
Thanks for such modules. It has atleast made my life very easy :)

This video player is a really nice addition to our pages. I chose the pre-upload converter/uploader utility and it worked very easily even for a large video file. This vendor is absolutely great about helping with questions that came up. One feature that I really like is the abilty to view a video in full screen mode. I also really liked that I could customize the look of the video list.

The technical support for this module is amazing. Support was timely and Pengtsen R just didn't give up until the problem we had was solved. (The problem, BTW, was with our server, not UVG). I would buy another module from this company in a heart beat. It does everything that it claims to do!

I have a video in DVD format and is 600mb. Will this module convert it to an FLV file?

yes, but why don't you encode it to H264 format? UVG 3 is able to do this, the video quality is much better, refer to bizmodules.net to see some sample videos.
Since uploading 600MB file takes quite a long time, I suggest you to use UVG Converter to encode videos at local computer before upload.
